It's a huge sign of unhealthiness in the relationship. Yes, its great to have friends, but on line friendship is somewhat an oxymoronic. Unlike being in person; people can lie and project whatever element, they so desire. A person in a relationship; a serious one, will limit the exposure to conflicting challenges that could hinder to growth of a healthy relationship. If its a pin-pal sort of thing; don't worry. However; if its more than that; and nude photos are exchange; be worry!

Well, I am a lesbian and in a HIGHLY committed relationship. I am always talking to people on line within the lesbian community who are both single and in relationships. I always make it known up front that I have no intentions of stepping out on my partner and they either respect that or they don't. I am a very social person and love to meet new people. I am sure that this is the same for some of the guys who are in a relationship as well. If you are that suspicious there are ways to check the computer and find out what is being said behind your back! I'm not an expert on this but in digging through the computer a little I have found "copies" of emails that have been stored deep inside the computer. Where there's a will there's a way!

Not completely. While some may have ulterior motives, many do enjoy "meeting" people from around the country and globe.

The last girl that I was seeing last year was doing this very thing, that is why I stopped seeing her because she was connecting with guys and girls online and lying about it. That has taken my trust away for a while, now I am just hanging with my regular friends and family. :)

Well, there are three possibilities:

1. The actually might JUST want to make friends; or
2. They intend cheating on their partners; or
3. Their partner does not care if they have sex with other.

I find it enjoyable to make new friends from all over the world...it does not mean that I wish to cheat on my man.

I think it depends on the individual. If you are concerned, ones past normally is a representation of who they are and how they behave.

I have heard this story over and over again - and it normally ends in someone cheating.
