My theory in music is that Napster was the thing then it got shut down.
Then is was Kazaa, now it is Linewire.
I think that Limewire will be the next one to shut down, then you will have all those files on your computer and many of them could come corrupt.
Try to download Ares. Not that many people have it, but it has all the music you could ever need or want!

Another good site is bitcomet which is also free. You can get movies from this site as well.
I have used both for a couple of years and have had no problems at all.
