No , Definately not , every serious Medical Report proves beyond doubt the seriously detrimental effect it has on peoples mental health , this is backed up by the ever increasing numbers being admitted to mental hospitals , suffering from the affect of Canabis and other Drugs. this together with the fact that this Clown of a Government has "Invited" our population to get Pissed 24/7 Our Hospitals , Ambulance Crews, Paramedics and Police are Overwhelmed with Problems as a result of the current "Anything Goes" Policy == Common Sense and Reality == No Chance

Controversial - but my view is that drug misuse should be a health, not legal issue.
I would decriminalise everything which would cut crime - people would no longer steal to feed a habit, drug barons would no longer make money, gun crime would be cut almost immediately - and put the saved police resources into huge health based initiatives.
No more dirty needles, no more excitement of doing something illegal, no more badly cut heroin killing users.
It won't happen - it's a political step too far - but to me it's logical.

NO, NO, NO, and NO again. I work on a mental health unit and we are seeing a lot of young people comming in with drug induced psychois. Cannabis is one of the biggest causes of it. I also accept that in some of the other cases other drugs are playing a part in the illness. To young lads and lasses come in on a mental health section it does alter your outlook.
The other side of the arguement is thats is a good painkiller. After all we do use strong opiate based drugs eg morphine, codine ect. But these are always prescribed by a doctor. But the way cannabis is used by those who use it for kicks are risking screwing the rest of their lives up. Plus very often it leads to much more sinister stuff. Ive see to much of " its okay I can handle it I know how much to have." Only to see them readmitted after losing everything. Sometimes they don't get readmitted, they have lost their life.

No, because i've seen how people react when they can't get any. Its no different than alcohol and just look what that does. If it wasn't for the money that the government gets from tax, alcohol would be illegal as well. If it was legalised the price would go up as well, so nothing would really be gained from it anyway.

during my studies i did a essay on cannabis and so had to do a lot of research, my conclusion is it should be legalised purely on medicinal purposes.

Yes, I think they should be legalize everywhere. I believe that it should all be control by the government for taxes and age restriction purposes. But most importantly for providing real and true scientific information on it's effects and side effect and then adult people can make an educated decision. you have to sit in a 5 hour movie to get a driver permit why not make permits and have people sit down and watch an accurate movie on it first?. If you ever talk to an recovering addict ( even if it's alcohol or cig smoker) they will all tell you that if they knew then what they know now they would never started or at least will have the sense to discipline or moderate use.

No, because it would set a trend for the declassifying of all drugs over time. If we legalise cannabis, who is to say in the future that a more liberal government won't legalise another drug. It is banned for a good reason and should remain so unless it can be proved that it has more positives than negatives as with all medical drugs.

tricky one! i have smoked it for over 20 years but i do think it has affected me negativly in a small way. the super strong weed we get today is to much, people cant handle it.
on the other hand the government will never stop it so it may as well be legal. also it can be great fun!

People are going to smoke it no matter what, so why not sell it along side alcohol with an 18 age limit, and that way it would cut the dealers out and get them off the streets.

Yes, what a good idea. If you want hundreds of mumbling, boring, incoherent chavs all over the place. All finding "snags" with everything, and lacking motivation. Whilst immigrants do the work THEY should be doing.

I feel strongly that this stuff IS harmful and should continue to be illegal.
