If you had £500 would you buy a wii or a ps3 (you could use the extra money to buy games/assecories)

Simple answer for 500 quid;
PS3 = Console and whatever is included in the box...
Wii = Console and so many combanations! You could get 9 games with the console!! Or, you could get 4 remotes, 4 nunchucks and still have enough for 5 games!!

Wii for sure, especially with £500...that won't get you far with the PS3...if you take a look at play.com you can get the Wii games as cheap as £32.99 (cheaper than anywhere else i've seen), not to mention the price difference in the console itself. Although it's not all about the price, far from just kiddie games...the innovative steps Nintendo have made of late (Nintendo DS and now the Wii), have made me and a quite a few others that i know excited about video games again. My last console was a PS2 so i'm not just another Nintendo fanboy.
It may not have the biggest graphical power of the other next gen systems but with the new direction they're taking gaming i believe this is the only true next gen system willing to take gaming into a new direction. Not to mention that the PS3 had been delayed until March next year.In short...get yourself a Wii.

The Wii, definitely. For £500 you could buy two Wiis ... or a lot of games. The PS3 is just more of the same, and seems to be a lot more expensive than an Xbox 360 for not much difference.

I think a lot of people are missing the point on this one and only stating the PS3 because it will no doubt be the most powerful console on the market, easily.
PS3 will be amazing when it finally comes out...but for £500!? Sony help justify this price tag because it will also be capable of playing Blu-Ray discs that Sony will be producing both movies and games on. Blu-Ray players are highly priced at the moment, around £800 on release, if this format flops just like the UMD format has though that extra investment YOU are making in the PS3 will be a waste. Oh did I forget to mention the estimated £50-£60 price on games, laughable at best.
As for people saying the Wii is a kiddy machine, wake up. Its called innovation, in-no-va-tion. It won't be a next generation console that offers sequels to games that have been made countless times before with jaw dropping graphics and slightly tweaked gameplay. Its going to tap into something that hasn't been done with gaming consoles before, or at least not to this extent. Just look at madden NFL for example, i dont even LIKE NFL games yet the prospect of using the joypad to simulate the throwing of a ball or pushing someone off during a tackle is pretty impressive!
Im with the Wii on this one.

I'd go with the WII, it's only 250$ And I think the PS3 will be a big flop. With the price 600 for a complete one, and 500 for the other. Not to mention the games with be 60-70-80$ each. It's not worth it. All hail the WII!!

I would pick the PS3. It will have far more games down the road due to outstanding 3rd party support. If it were in your choices, I would get a 360 over the Wii or the PS3 though.

Personally, I would prefer the X Box 360 over PS3. I haven't read enough into Wii to know anything about it... but it doesn't seem like it would be for me based on the info I have heard on it. Some say the PS3 is going to have encrypted games, which really sucks. All in all, I'm going with X Box 360....
My systems in order= NES, SNES, SEGA GENESIS, N64, PS2, XBOX 360...
As you can see, I've owned all three systems...so my opinion is not biased. I have never had any problems with any company. But in 3007...I'd definitely go with X Box 360.

Wii got really good ratings for style, creativity, sleekness, and games. And the price is hard to beat with all those other systems coming out. So that's what and why I'm getting it. Peace.

Wii for all my retro needs!! As well as just to have a good time.
I might get a 360 somewhere along the line too though to sustain the the graphics whore within me!

well i'm 23 so i'll get the ps3 cuz i could play my old game on it and cuz the wii game are more for young kids it would cost more but i would pay for that baby
