I just let it heal when it happens to me. If it doesn't go away and you are really concerned, you could see a doctor to be sure.

Red Eye or Subconjunctival Hemorrhage
I get that all the time. It usually happens when I sneaze quite abruptly, causing the blood vessel to burst. It will usually clear up within a couple of days. I usually don't go to a doctor for it as there is nothing to be done for it.
In rare cases, it is indicative of a further problem that should be looked at. You might consider going to your doctor because of this.
You can get a better explanation from an online medical source
Here are a few:

It is not uncommon to break a vessel on the eyeball if one coughs hard enough, rubs their eye hard enough, strains as in picking up heavy objects and straining hard to have a bowel movement.
Uncontolled high blood pressure can also cause this. You might want to have your blood pressure checked but if you are under the age of 35 I doubt this is a problem but it does occur in people younger than 35.
Provided you did not take a hard blow to your eye,the redness or blood will absorb but it may take some time.

Humm....I don't think it's anything to worry about. I've had that happen occasionally and usually when I'm stressed out, or have had too much fun the night before. It will go away in about a week. Nothing a doctor can do anyway. If it continues to happen, I'd have my blood pressure checked. Otherwise, don't stress out over this. Godloveya.

give it a day to see if it starts healing, you can apply cold compresses. If you have pain, any flashes of light or floaters seek an ophthalmologist immediately. If the redness is still there tomarrow then also call an ophthalmologist. Good Luck

It really all depends on how bad it is. If it is affecting your vision, you should go to the doctor immediately, but if it is just red... this happens to a lot of people and is not usually a big thing to get worried about. I hope it is not serious and it clears up soon!!!

Well if you are sure that it is a bursted blood vessel, only time can heal it, so just hold tight and it should go away.
