The best way would be a flat bed. Depending on how good of shape the truck is in. You could have it towed but be careful of the suspension maybe giving out. And if you have to get it towed, tow it from the rear end, locking the steering wheel. The older trucks have great pulling suspentury in the back but not so good in the front. Just because it may look great on the outside doesn't mean it may be rusted out underneath. Check before hauling.

trailer if the rear tires are good ,a tow dolly but take the drive shaft out ,straight drive will not pick up trans grease to oil the main shaft, or if automatic if it doesn't have a rear pump it will mess the tranny up. I have a 1954 ford panel wagon restored but it has a 350 ci chev. and a 700r4 trans have plenty of info on 54 ford trucks

Trailer or rollback transporter. Towing an old vehicle with tires on the ground is not wise. A tire could blow out.
