I know a lil history on Mr. Levi S. But why are they typically blue? Why not red jeans or green jeans?

in the ol' days the makers of the first denim found that the indigo dye were the cheapest and would retain colour the best in the rough circumstances they were subjected to by the miners that wore them as work clothes.

I'm going to guess it has something to do with the availability of indigo to dye the cotton.

I think some of the other guesses - like the thought that blue goes with everything, for instance - are more a result of the prevalence of blue denim than it is the explanation for denim being blue in the first place. In other words, it seems normal to us to accept blue denim as a neutral since we see it so often, and not the other way around.

Blue goes with pretty much everything. There are red and green, but they are more specific to the outfit you're wearing. It's more understated as well.
