I hope not .
My rates are high enough. I don`t want my increases going to perversion.

I have BCBS of Illinois and I was sent a notice not too long ago that stated that I could if I could prove that I have had a domestic partner for the duration of 1 year, and it must be provable. How, do you ask? Well they stated that we must jointly own something together or prove that we have been living together for at least 1 year. I assume they mean bank statements, a lease, utility bills, etc. So I guess to answer your question, yes we can if we can prove we actually have a domestic partner. Good luck to you, and don't worry about the narrow minded asshole who initially answered your question. Peace.....

That depends completely on if its a group insurance or an individual insurance(one you pay for yourself). I'm sorry I don't know the exact answer as I do not sell in that state.

If its a group insurance and you are comfortable enough, ask the person who handles your insurance at your company. If its a big enough company, you might be able to get that information from the web site. For an individual insurance policy(or if you don't want to talk to your company), simply call the customer service number on the back of your card and ask. If they do not know, then ask to be transferred to membership and billing, which might be a separate department. You might actually be able to get the answer from their web site, by looking at the application.

Also if you have a BCBS of Ill. insurance agent you work with, give them a call, they would also know.

Yes, they do and they have too.
The state has a domestic partnership claus with BCBSIL because they are headquartered in Chicago which has a Domestic Partnership protections act. All companies located in Chicago and Cook County MUST include domestic partnership protections.

I worked for bcbs in mass and it was covered. I would read over your insurance and see who and what is covered under i'm sorry i can't remember what sections its under. I haven't worked there in 6 years. I think you need to be together for 6 months or more.. i'm not sure on that you really need to call or look on the website.

I would call and ask. and they can look it up.

It would depend on the situation and where the insurance has come through(as in work)..
Perhaps checking out their homepage might help.

It depends on the company you get them through. I know IBM does, because my Mom works for them, and our insurance is through them. I don't know if it is when you are without a company to go through though.
