My favorite books are sets. My absolute favorites are by Christopher Paolini and Eoin Colfer. That would be Eragon, Eldest, and the entire Artemis Fowl collection. A Science Fiction/ Fantasy collection. But as a book I am absolutely sure is a novel, I would suggest looking up a newer author, named Terry Mirll. Parts of his books are really funny. Also, look for Jeanette Mirll. A book called Javakosh.

Any of P.G. Wodehouse if you like Satire. Anything russian, too. Sons & Lovers, Brothers Karamazov, House of the Dead, Crime & Punishment. Also James Joyce's Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man, or Exiles.

Depends on what kind of books you like to read. Some of my favorite authors are below:

Fannie Flagg...warm lighthearted fiction
Charlaine Harris...very different younger adult fiction (i'm 30 and find it perfect for my age)
Philippa Greggory...historical fiction...writes a lot of historical fiction about Anne Boleyn and Henry the 8th...don't say no until you read at least the first chapter in the book store, she has a big fan base. =)

Hope that helps get you started. =)

Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon. Apost-apcolyptic look at life and times after nuclear war. This book gave me hope for the human race. A thriller of pure fiction.

Wow, that's kind of a broad question. That depends on what kind of books you like to read. Personally, I'm a big Stephen King fan. If you like scary, I'd go with Stephen. But, I also like John Grisham, too. It's hard to narrow down just one choice to recommend to you. Just go to a bookstore and pick a book. Any reading is better than no reading. :)
