I think if you compare the Divorce rate, dropout rate, gang violence & teen pregnancy rates, it will be clear to understand a womans place should be at home with her children. What do all of you think?

As a woman, may I please say Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!! I couldn't agree with you more. The women's lib movement caused women to go around with a chip on their shoulder and look for trouble. And it's really screwed up society, especially economically and socially.

My mom was a stay at home mom (who would've made tons of money as she has a degree in microbiology and is quite intelligent) but she choose to stay home and take care of her kids. I think now it's either impossible to live on one income, unless it's a pretty good one, or people who can live on one income don't because they like the extra money. It buys them nicer cars, bigger houses, nicer clothes, etc.

So all you gals who scream "Sexist Pig!!", I think the real issue at hand is not whether or not women are capable (I don't think he's saying all women are dumb and inferior to men), but whether or not it's their place. Women work more and have less time to mentor and love their families, which I think helps lead to the higher divorce rates, dropout rates, violence, etc.

Spoken like a truely ignorant man.. lol..

hummmmmm lets see.. maybe u need to actually do some research on statisitcs here, because id be willing to bet..

That most divorces are sought after by men.. that the teen drop out rate is mostly boys.. gang violence is mostly males.. and well teen pregnancy usually takes a "male" to make happen lol..

And considering theres such a HUGE problem in this country with men leaving their kids behind with the mothers, and NOT paying childsupport.. causing the woman to work 1 to 2 jobs to support the child because of the dead beat dads..which takes her away from the home more , to the point that she's so busy trying to make ends meat to support the child, that she's not home to help much with the upbringing of the child.. which tends to cause.. drop out rates to be higher, kids to turn to gangs, drugs, and running wild .. maybe if MEN actually were REAL MEN these days, And if PEOPLE actually took wedding vows seriously again and didnt RUN FOR THE HILLS the moment they realize that its not a fairy tale that its real life, and stop doing whats CONVIENT for them OR what FEELS good at the moment.. and start doing whats right for their families maybe then life would get on a smoother track, but to say that womens liberation was what screwed america up is ridiculous.. Society has made to many whiners, and made it to exceptable for people to go with how they "Feel" and not have to live up to their responsibilities any longer, and theres no shame or consequence for their actions anymore.. THATS the problem..

Its the morals and values of MEN and WOMEN that have gotten screwed up..

I guess it depends on who you ask. Staying at home wasn't necessarily and option for my grandmother and mother, especially if they wanted a better life for their children. For black women, the Women's Liberation Movement was something that bored white housewives came up with up with to participate in the various movements of the time, and couldn't be taken seriously. I asked my mom if the Women's movement had any impact on her: her answer was no, and that the Civil Rights movement had a greater impact on women than the Women's movement.

No one wants to live a subservient life. It's not just up to women to create a environment where the family thrives. You can't blame women for the divorce rate, it takes two. Two parents raise children, so you can't blame the drop out rate, gang violence and teen pregnancy rates on women. We are only half of who brings people into the world and influences their lives by our example.

No, I'm not buying your argument. I encourage men to step up and do THEIR part.

Sure if the men start taking responsibility like the way they used to back when. Truth is honey, men are slacking now a days. The roles are changing and fact being, most men can no longer support their families and you are finally seeing that we are able to do more then what you thought. Something so simple as taking care of a household is hard for you men, when we have always done it and some of us to this day still do it and hold a full time job just to do what you men who complain cant do. Get over it! Look a little closer, it's mostly men not women who do the things you are complaining about

OK let me calm down before I respond to you... or my account could be deleted from this wonderful site.
On some level I understand where you are coming from, some very small level. The movement was about woman having equal choice to conduct their lives as they see fit for themselves. Whether it be as a homemaker or a lawyer or a Hollywood movie star. How would you feel if society as a whole told you your ambitions, wants and needs were not important? It takes two to (in some cases) conceive a child. If you have a life partner that you chose to have a family with (by conception or adoption); then it is a joint effort to raise your children to be happy, functioning human beings.
The fathers role is just as important as the mothers role. All of the problem you mentioned... I believe , are a result of the thinking you are conveying in your posting. If men weren't so focused on the women doing their "job" and staying in their "place". And instead focused on what they should be doing in their fatherly role. These children wouldn't feel so lost and torn and turning to other negativity's to fulfill their needs..... wow. I hope my posting opens your eyes to other views. Best wishes.

I dont think the womens movement is the cause of all that. Where are the men? A family does not fall apart because of the women only. I think that America is better off now that women are on a more equal playing field as men. Course that could be because I am a woman.

So you are blaming everything on women... No, actually you are blaming everything on mothers! Maybe most kids would have a better life and turn out to be healthy, productive adults if there weren't so many dead beat dads out there. Stop blaming every problem in the world on women's lib. There's nothing wrong with women to be allowed to have choices. It doesn't have to be one way or the other, we can be successful parenting and working.

Well I think you are another "make the women stay at home bare foot and pregnant types" That is so sexist. Besides now a days their are alot of women that make more than men and alot of husbands who stay at home doing the cooking and cleaning. It should be an even trade in each household.

I am a single mother of three, becuase me husband wasn't taking care of his family. I work full time, not because I want to, because I have to, and I resent the hell out of people who turn their nose up at me because I'm not hime with my kids. They are going through hell right now and I should be with them. The only thing I can say is thank God for my family, or I would really be screwed. I didn't fight for this.

I think that its a woman's choice.I believe that a mother should raise her children.I however don't believe she should be forced into raising her children. With the economy the way it is we can not longer afford to stay at home all the time.So i think instead of blaming women's rights you should be blaming the economy and the state of America today.
