Light bulbs (provides lighting at any time)
Telephone (instant communication around the world)
Combustion engine (travel great distances fast)

1) washing machine: I use to wash clothes by hand when I was younger and it was a drag.
2) plumbing: I dont think I would of enjoyed walking 2 or 3 miles just to fill my buckets with water, never mind the swimming holes where other creatures may share my bath time, and I much prefer flushing, to digging holes in the ground.
3) transportation: It's a wonderful feeling to fly, take the train, drive in a car and use the bus system to get somewhere faster than horse and buggy and a bit more comfortable.

1. Wheel (helped to build civilization and made man more mobile and able to move large objects more efficiently)
2. Paper (To preserve history, before everthing was oral tradition and often lost)
3. Fire (Yes we had to discover this)
4. Democracy
5.Road systems (Think Roman Empire and Marco Polo. Connected civilizations together, spread knowledge between civilizations)
6. Gravity

Air Conditioning...cant live without it.
Washing machine. Hard work without it.
The contraceptive pill. Now I dont have to have 12 children.
