Seems that moderates and independents will be voting for democrats, on account of the war in Iraq. WIll we see some time lines laid out in the next couple of weeks? Will the democratic party win without having to build their party? Did the republicans miss their opportunity to garner these votes from the third parties? What will the republicans have to do to keep the presidency?

Well the latest from Rasmussen still shows the Senate too close to call. A lot of the polls have Missouri going Democrat but when factoring in "likely" voters it skews back towards the Republicans.

So even if they lose the House, which stills looks likely, the Republicans may keep the Senate. But in either case the Democrats will not have a veto proof majority, so expect even less to get accomplished during the next two years then during the past six.

And as far as maintaining the Presidency, in 2008 they will remind everyone how the last time the Democrats had the Legislative and Executive branches in 1993 and 1994, taxes went up and the economy went into a tailspin.

No matter what the backlash is against Bush I don't see many moderates voting for Hillary, Lieberman or Obama. Although I do like the lastest Democrat ploy. They have rebranded Hillary and Nancy Pelosi as moderates. Not that their radical left political stances have changed, they just decided to start calling them moderates.

I think the election in 2008 will be another 50/50 split and the Electoral College will again chose the winner, unless there is a third third party candidate with the financial resources to win. The deciding factors will be the cadidates.. Both sides need to pick moderates to run. Old school right and old school left will \not wash.

that is already going on, reps are complaining about progress in iraq(finally!) and calling for a "change of strategy" blah, blah, blah.... in a last ditch effort to not lose. a recent study by barrons says the ones with the most cash win. that is acurate 93% of the time. which just means reps won't lose as bad as expected.
the next pres? i WANT an indy-repubs can act like normal Americans to hold the presidency-enough of the elitism and socialism!

Its nice to see your looking in the closet.....The races are neck in neck, the democrats have a chance in the house they have 4 of the needed and the senate 10 of the 1 but you never know , 1 days to go, I am sure the democrats will stab themselves in the foot again like they always do....But with the fact that democrats and republicans should lose but obviously that cant happen, I would wish when basher post questions they post links as well, beside who runs the polls , hmmmm, the left agenda media....hmmmmm I guess its believeable then......

Two years of Pelosi, Rangle, Barney Frank, Kennedy, etc., increased taxes, declining economy, lack of all border control, more welfare spending and excelerated wars will be enough to bring in a new era and I hope it is an independent.

The News Media make the Polls come out the way they want.
I don't trust them as they are campaigning for the Democrats, as usual.
IF, they are accurate and the Democrats win, the working people will get a big TAX INCREASE.
(And they will deserve it.)
