They have resumed whaling, and done so against the wishes the rest of the civilised world. Should all EU member countries and individual citizens show their displeasure at this move by stopping all trade and all travel to these rogue states?
I for one, choose to boycott ANYTHING from either of these two countries.
I am not a veggie or animal rights person.. But the line has to be drawn somewhere. This is NOT on,,,,send the message.

Please, dont stop there! Also boycott everything from Japan!!!
They are going to make Norway and Iceland look like girl scouts in comparison once they get their plans into action! At the moment they are whaling under the ridiculous guise of scientific research, but everyone knows it's just commercial whaling through the IWC loophole they're exploiting.
They are ignoring international opinion and pushing their catch numbers up constantly. Also, they are whaling within the only internationally recognized sanctury; Antarctica!!! They argue it's their cultural right to hunt whales, but many countries who have long since stopped, can claim the same thing from their own cultural histories, and besides, culture is merely a product of its people and is constantly changing as they adjust their thinking to fit with the times they live in. You don't see Japanese people complaining about not being able to walk around with large swords or disembowel themselves for honour anymore, do you? The reasons they want to do it today are completely different from their past. Today, the corporate giants of Japan, supported by the government, are working hard to create a false consumer market for whale meat, since the country has all but forgotten its taste for it. They are forcing regional school boards to put whale meat on school lunch menus, in order to raise a new generation of whale eaters! They hope that these captive children, who have no choice but to eat what they are given, will be the future consumers of their product. It's all about money, but the government are posting ads in news papers, in a cynical attempt to rally the population around their cause by describing it as a foreign attack on the cultural sovereignty of Japan, blatantly whipping up the patriotic zeal of the people for their own selfish ends!!
The Japanese population stands to gain nothing more than an extra flavour on their already bloated seafood menu, and a small group of elite corporate pigs stand to gain huge wealth at the expense of the environment and all of us!!
If you care about the future of the planet and its already seriously depleted resources, you will do your bit to hurt the corporate monsters who will stop at nothing to rape this planet to death!!
You can start by boycotting their products, since money is the only thing they care about, and the only thing that can hurt them!!

You stupid idiots, pissing and moaning about 1 or 2 thousand NON ENDANGERED whales being hunted. What's going to replace the meat? Factory farmed beef and pork. At least the whales are given a life before they're shot.

Agreed! And what I really want to know is where the hell are PETA and Greenpeace and all the other Eco-terrorist whackjobs when there is a real, legitimate issue for them to pursue? Instead of breaking into obscure testing labs that nobody really cares about, let alone understands, why aren't these people doing something about the whaling industry?
