The Core 2 Duos are the best out right now, no question about it. AMD will have their new processors out next summer which will most likely retake the lead, but as of right now, Intel is on top.

I would go for AMD but these new intel core due are not bad.Intel CPUs work on 65 bit infrastructure and are a little faster than the AMD but with relese of athlon 5200 + that has 64 bit structure.AMD again proved that they are the masters for the CPUs.AMD CPUs are in my nolege better for gaming.In my company we did a test on the various CPUs and the AMD beat the INTEL for about 1.4 fps in general.If you need more info on CPUs go to http://www.firingsquad.com and find out.There you will find lots of usefull info on CPUs.

If Intel had not released their Core2 Duo processors I would choose AMD for sure.
But everything has changed until AMD releases anything better.
