it used to be that it carried a life-long stigma ... someone would always have that copy of Hustler with the girl's picture in it to bring up. But now, there's SO MUCH porn out there, I would think that a single dalliance would just fade into the woodwork.

Besides, porn stars are household names now in America. It seems it hardly carries the stigma it once did.

What do you think?

It only carries a stigma with the person who did it, we don't care. Most of us have done worse things just without a director. Besides Pam Anderson and Pairs Hilton are still stars, I guess.

I think your sadly mistaken. Porn stars are still looked at as worthless whores and would never be taken seriously in the real world. They need to stick with their own. And I'm not sure whose household you're talking about, but the only names I'm familiar with is the legendary Ron Jeremy and, of course, Jenna Jameson.

You do have a valid point, however. Since there are a gajillion people in porn nowaday, especially the women, it might be easy to walk around like a 'regular person'. Unless, of course, these women excelled in their craft and became famous like Jenna.

The more famous a porn star is, the longer the stigma lasts, I guess. Everyone will recall the hot scenes whenever seeing the former porn star despite whatever her present career is.

This category has totally lost moral, ethical, cultural and family values. Its a very very big sin and shame shame. To do this in private is aslo immoral but to record/do and show, is too bad and can be categorised as misguide others to unethical and vulgar bahavour.
One must keep in mind, the purpose of one's creation and sending in this world, which is to accept, follow and practice the teachings of GOD Almighty.

I agree, it seems like it's just so common now that you're likely to see a neighbour/friend/cashier from the supermarket if you watch enough porn.

I don't know. I saw a girl that I know and despise in a porn magazine. When I saw her I asked her about it and I figured she'd be proud of it, but she denied it completely ( I KNOW that was her) and she left crying.
