I agree with the others. I did once quit a higher-paying job and took one that we could squeak by on just to save my sanity. It's rough when you have kids to support, or even if you don't, but if you stay, you will be miserable.

I tried talking to my boss. It was a bad idea. He was a total dominating creep. Five years after I quit the job, somebody shot him! I wasn't a bit surprised.

My opinion: find yourself another job if possible and walk away from that guy before they make any more of your life miserable. :)

Good luck to you!

I was in a similar situation. I am a widow who had a nightmare boss. I needed the job, but realized if I was not happy, my kids couldn't be either. So I left and found a new job. It didn't pay quite as much, but at least I went home with a smile on my face.
Good Luck!

how come he's making your life a misery?...it may be that he thinks you wont/cant leave because of your kids...sit back with the local paper once a week until a better job comes up and then go to your boss and do a big smelly fart or poke them in the eyes and say you're leaving.xxx

I think the first thing is to find out the reason why he makes your life a misery. Try to communicate with him, if it doesn't work (some people are really dominate), then leave; if it improves the situation, then stay. At least try to solve the problem first before you leave it without any trying. Then there is no regret.

Hi hun. I had a crap job a yr ago. I spoke to my boss and I spoke to his boss, but no-one cared: ( when my other realtionships started to suffer 'cos I was so miserable I quit. Took couple of months to 'centre' myself then I found perfect job, with better people and pay.

Now the guy who made my life hell has been fired, last I heard he wasn't working...

The perfect job is out there for you. Your boss doesnt deserve you.

It's easier to find a job while you have one. SO if you truly are unhappy at that one, start looking for something else and when you find a job, give your boss your notice and tell him why you are leaving. The man may not realize that he is so difficult to work for. Or he may know it and just enjoys being a jerk.

I believe you should continue in your present job, because of your family necessities right now, in the mean time, update your resume and send out a few I'm sure someone is looking for a stable individual who can work under pressure and you may even obtain a higher paying job....

GO GO GO
Your boss doesn't deserve you. Find another job. If you have to ask strangers' opinions, then the decision is simple, you really need to go NOW.

I know how you feel, it's hard but you should try not to take too much notice of him & in the meantime look for another job, but for the best dont quit until you have another job.
Good luck
