Actually, the real answer is that "sound" is an interpretation of air movement, and any living creature that has a "receiver" that connects to its brain will "hear" that sound after the receiver has transmitted the coded message to the brain where it's translated. Our receiver is of course the ear. When a tree falls in a forest it displaces air, so you could say that the tree is the "transmitter". The "sound waves" set in motion by the falling tree are still being transmitted, even if there is no "receiver" close enough to pick up those waves and translate them into "sound" for the owner of the receiver - either human, or any other creature with an auditory system.. Usually our reception of those waves and their translation into what we hear happens very quickly after the incident that set them in motion. But of course lightwaves travel a whole lot faster than sound waves, which is why w e see the lightening, but there's a longish pause before we "hear" the thunderclap, and we might see the jet way before we hear the sonic boom. I wouldn't w ant to move at lightening speed, but sometimes I sure wouldn't mind being able to travel at 11 hundred feet per second occasionally, which if my memory serves me is about the speed of sound.

Going by male logic... if the girl is attractive than she can say whatever she wants and it would be believed... if she's ugly or in that general category, nobody would believe her... it's all about the end result... ya know, that night... and the next morning, it would be much more easier if it was the attractive one the guy would wake up to right???

Well as Toots was my childhood nickname, I'll just say this... Just because you are indoors and looking at a screen, does the outside world not exist, until you raise your head?

Did your question in this thread appear, before I saw it, or does it even exist as I write an answer, and if you never read it, was I here?

Older and wiser lady who can hear what you are thinking, in ways you have yet to learn... and presumes, you are a man with one foot in his loin cloth... and the other in his mouth;-)

that question is dependant on opinion,
i think it would make a sound but no-one is around to hear it

and as for the woman "says something is she still wrong"
that doesnt work becos a woman is never wrong hehe

It still makes a sound but we are too busy to hear it becouse we are listening to this. A woman is not allways wrong its just your narrow mind.
