There are thousands of north Europeans buying houses in the
Greek islands, and living there Good weather very touristic, very safe, very beautifully. There are some villages with 50 per cent Germans,British etc.Being Europeans they have the right to be elected even as mayors, free medical services and work if they want
The trick is to buy an old stone house in a little island and fix it

At the moment i would say Bulgaria, you could sell your home wherever you live and live like a king in Bulgaria. The Black sea resorts are beautiful and the wether is great. However if you wait for another year when Romania are welcomed in to the EU then there will be even cheaper.

if you want to be in western europe then it has to be belgium, especially the east side of the country around liege and surrounding areas. Anything from 35K euro for a terraced house,50K euro for a new studio. Its also much cheaper to live than UK, and you can be in several other countries within a short space of time.

Look around in eastern Europe since countries like France,Italy,Spain,GB etc. are very expensive apart from "low" class aereas,of course.
