If it is appendicitis then the pain probably would have started around your belly button and then gradually moved across. If you start vomiting, sweating and are unable to stand up straight because of the pain, I would edge my bets on appendicitis - I should know I had mine out a couple of years ago and I can remember the pain like it was yesterday!!

Problems with the organs in the abdominal region i.e. the digestive system, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, appendix and kidney could be the main reasons for a bad stomach ache. Gastroenteritis can give you a severe stomach ache, while stomach pain from cancer may only be mild. I found a lot of great information on causes of stomach pain and its treatment at http://tinyurl.com/l9k9x

It maybe wind, if you are getting any other symptoms like urge to go the toilet yet nothing comes out, pain when urinating etc, then you have a water infection. If it doesn't clear in a couple of days go to your GP.

Be sure it's not a grumbling appendicitis. My son had one for a while then it needed urgent treatment right out of the blue.
