This does'nt happen in Japan ! It used to happen in rural areas in China though. They wanted a boy to carry on the family name. And also someone who could work hard to help the parents.

Terrible waste of potential womanhood. From what I have seen in the last four decades, Oriental women have western women beat hands down in general when it comes to attractiveness, understanding, faithfulness and being REAL people instead of weak fakes.

Of course they don't! And they don't make a habit of it in China either! But sometimes in China girls get abandoned by their parents. That's why the orphanages are so full.
