Hasn't some airline company come up with that idea already, it was on the news a few weeks ago, your not actually fully erect on the plane you were sort of leaned back a bit and had special straps to stop you been thrown forward, it really didn't look that comfortable at all, but guess if its for a short journey then maybe it might work but I wouldn't fancy it one bit.

There is a difficulty with that as the most dangerous parts of a flight are takeoff and landing and all passengers need to be strapped into a seat for these.

To dangerous when taking off and landing, Some planes have already tried putting upright seats where people are pretty much upright (standing up) but they are strapped in too.

If I had a seat directly in front of a guy standing I'd have a problem staring (smelling?) at his @ss for two hours.
Don't get me started on the sounds emitted from said areas.

It would be dangerous at take off and landings and other times (like turbulence) when you are supposed to tighten your seatbealt

No one would want to stand up for more than 10 minutes...

That sounds great until you encounter turbulance or have a fanny in your face for an hour.
