Breaking up on 20th and being back at school for halloween & bonfire night?
Being back at school after xmas on 2nd!? The day after New Years and 4 DAYS BEFORE twelfth night?
I know one thing for sure, my kids won't be at school next week and they can go back on 8th Jan after xmas, don't the schools consider public holidays when choosing school holiday dates anymore?
I don't care if the school says they can break-up earlier instead, missing holidays or having to go to bed early on public holidays does is not made up for that easily.

I've already tried to talk to the school, they've just said that they get to break-up earlier instead and won't discuss it further.

The Irish term dates sound like the old english ones, why did we change?

Plus, I won't be able to get them to school on these days, they can never get up before 12 on 2nd when they've stayed up on New year's Eve and I'm not sending them to bed early on new year.
I'm going to follow all my usual traditions, I've told the school about it and put in holiday applications for these dates, the school disapproved and I've told them we're going to follow through out traditions anyway.

I always had halloween & bonfire night off at half-term. So did my parents, my grandparents and my kids always have up until now.
