The notion of settling down has always perplexed me! What does it mean? How old? Does it mean you have no ambition anymore or any desires to keep learning or improving?

No I don't think so, I think it means that instead of being a bit wild, like going out 4 nights a week and drinking and partying, you choose the simple life, where you just chill out.

I'm not quiet there yet but as I approach 30 (and quickly) I find myself wanting to spend more of my sunday's sleeping in and reading the newspapers in bed with a big cup of coffee than I do wanting to spend them sleeping all day and having a massive hang over...

Settling down means that you are satisfied with yourself and your partner, ready to share the rest of your life together, it really has the same concept of being married, some people live together and some get married. How old? no special age... you'll know when you are ready, when you are tired of the bar scene, club scene, when the things you do with your friends becomes repetitious, you know, when the same thing keep happening over and over and over....... When life becomes boring you are ready for Mr. or Ms. Right.............That's settling down

YOU ARE READY FOR PERMANENT CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!

settling down is finding the one person who you can love and love you back unconditionally, inspite of all your weird quirks and imperfections. settling down is being able to acknowledge the fact that you have already found your soulmate and you are responsible enough to commit to that person and to a lasting, monogamous relationship. settling down should never be a burden. it is not an excuse to become lazy and not treat yourself and your partner well. marriage can be entered by anyone but is given as a lasting and happy one is a privilege that must be worked on 24/7. being married is not being tied down in balls and chains, but finding your other half and making you one. settling down doesn't mean you have to stop growing as an individual, not at all. but finding someone to share those accomplishments with and have someone who will support you whatever your ambitions and endeavors are (but with good reason). it is not to be thought of as having sex with that same person for the rest of your life, but having someone so special and trustworthy to share your most intimate fantasies and make love with that one wonderful being, willing to guide, explore and empower. settling down means, not just to have kids, you can have kids with just anyone. but having that one person that you can trust to be patient and loving and generous enough to start a family with you inspite of all your b*llsh*t and freak-of-nature genes lols. settling down is anything but unpleasant, but a dream come true, a gift that comes only once in a blue moon and to be never taken for granted ever!!! i can go on and on, but i don't have the time anymore so i bid you adieu. i hope that somehow, i made you look at settling down in a good light and not some sort of punishment or torture. lol
