Well for one reason is to check out the pay check the CEO gets that is head of the United Way charities. That will tell you something.

Infact there is a lot of money out there that if put to proper use can bring smiles to many hungry and poor people on earth.

Man is naturally greedy...the poor will continue to be oppressed by the rich...just look closer to global policies around. The charities and lotteries are there to efficiently run the system of exploitation.. Its sad when you look at the very poor and sick people around the globe.

I like the sayng that teach people how to fish and dont give them fish. The world is full of selfish people propelling their selfish needs.

Good question!I've been thinkin' about it many times and still can't find the right answer.I've never been a lottery millionaire but the way I see it ,you know,with all the millions people have already won or donated,could surely feed the people in need and give them a better life.The problem is money is not always going where it should go!Why?Who knows...

You are under the false impression that millions of dollars are, in a national economic standpoint, a lot of money.


To put it in perspective:

Interest on the US national debt will be about 400 billion dollars for 2006. Interest. Actual debt is about 8 trillion.

I was able to find 2000 data - it said total US welfare spending (federal + state) was about 400 billion a year.

Most of the money does not really go to the poor and hungry people. It is kept by companies.

As long as there are "compassionate" people; poverty will exist. If you and I can work and take care of our own; why should "poor" people exist; i'm not talking about people who work and battle to make ends meet; i'm talking about the lazy mf's who live off wellfare and breed like african rabbits...
