Although I get the recommended 8 hours sleep per night I am still just as exhausted the day after at work. Is there anything I can stop being so tired.

You have probably lost or disturbed appetite.
You should eat only when you feel good hunger.
At early morning try a glass of warm water + 1/2 fresh lemon juice + 20 gm honey.
Use citrus fruits for breakfast to improve appetite.
Use less water, i mean avoid more water.
Use cocoanut water + 20 gm honey if you don't like lemon.
Avoid stale, fatty and bakery food, use fresh vegitables and fruits.
Worry, fear and sadness can low down appetite, try to be free from them.

Exercise is a good way to start your day and get everything moving. But I am wondering if there is an underlying problem here. You might want to ask your doctor to run a blood test to see if you are enemic. If that is it it can be adjusted by taking iron pills or eating more foods high in iron.

Or, could it be that even though you are sleeping 8 hours you are not getting restful sleep? Is there any universities near you that do sleep studies? I have read that they can be very informative and offer suggestions to get restful sleep.

Good Luck!

of course one gets tired after working all day....no way to get around it...try taking some energy foods or drinks for breaks at the job, and when you come home, take a quick shower and drink something, tea or coffee, soda ,,,,something to get you more energy for the evening......
