sometimes when i receive emails from friends that include picutres it's just a blank box with a little square in the top left hand side, with either a red cross in or 3 coloured shapes. i've tried right clicking mouse and clicking on show picture but doesnt work, can anyone tell me what i should do?, thanks

when you receive a picture by e-mail,you need to find what type of format they have been sent by first
most pictures are sent by the defualt picture format j/peg and these can be veiwed by your normal windows picture veiwer,but there are other formats that pictures come by such as bitmap image(bmg) and gif
windows will be able to view the bmg images but the gif format isnt supported by windows xp
to veiw gif pictures go to http://www.download.com/I-Fun-Viewer/3000-2192_4-10402724.html?tag=lst-0-9,this is a free download for a gif veiwer

paperclip icon click on it it should come up with save or open file. obviously if you want to save it click save but usually you just click open and it opens in a new window. ok.

go down to the bottom of the page and click on display external images
