After travelling to Egypt many times, I would love to work, in a voluntary basis, in Egypt.
Could anyone tell me how I can go about this - would like to work with children. Any information would be great.

Try working in an international school as they said . All the previously posted answers are true except for the women treatment part . This is an image that most of the western people have because of the media . You will find that out yourself when you come.
The payment is low as they said , but you have to take into consideration that the daily living expences are not as high as in other countries , like America for example .
You can get around perfectly fine with 150 dollars a month here in Egypt.
One more thing is that Egyptian people are really friendly , you can form a long lasting friendship with us really easy if you put your heart to it . They will help you as if you were a member of their family if you care to bond with them .
I can give you an example of what you can do . Choose one of the poor towns , start a center for teaching English , or your own language whatever it is - this won't cost you a lot - . Charge the children minimum wage to pay for your living expences .
I will be glad to help out .

Check with The American University in Cairo, they have postings for jobs teaching English to children all the time. However, be prepared for the fact that the level of pay in Egypt is very low and women are treated very poorly. Expect about $150 a month in pay on average, which is why it is such a poor country. Be careful.

If you want to work with children as a teacher then a good paying job is at the international school of chouiefat cairo. they pay foreign teachers alot. Also, we do not treat women poorly AND if you are a foreigner you dnt get low pay.

or ..if u want voluntary work without pay..then it's like what yasmine said.

Hi, I need more info, what do u mean by work with children, do u mean being a teacher or working for NGOs such as save the children and what are your qualifications?

Tell you what, why don't you add these details so that I can answer your question in a proper way.

I will leave you with a reference for a number of local recruitment web sites. Browse the listings and check if any are of interest.
