do the download bit. opening up the pc to look for a name could be a nightmare yes one static discharge and all those cables and wires in the way one careless hand slip and you will know what motherboard you have because the guy in the computer shop will be telling you along with lots of other pc techno jargon.

Like another person said... open the side of the case and look on the motherboard, it's printed somewhere on it... Sometimes the model number is printed on the back side of the motherboard... In that case, you would have to remove 4-6 screws from the motherboard and flip it over...

hi
get a screw driver....
open the side or the case u r using....
look at the mainboard attached to it...
u will find a name and model carved on it....
be carefull u must trust urself and not try to move anything form its place... this is the Ideal way to know your mainboard Model and name....or just look at the CD shipped with the PC u have... u will simply find the name of the board but i dont gurantee to find its model coz most of CDs shippped to support many models...
if u r asking to download a special driver... do as i told u ... use a screw driver
i like to do it myself ... no software which may fool me....
take care
