I get bad bloating, depression and obsessions with certain foods, but it stops the second day of my period. Do you know anything that could help?

*eat several small meals a day to minimize blood sugar fluctuations.
*limit intake of sweets, salt, alcohol, caffeine, red meats, and other fatty foods.
*exercise to reduce stress and tension
*ask for understanding and help with tasks in advance to reduce stress and pressure
*increase time for activities that bring enjoyment
*calcium (about 1200 mg per day)
* Additional magnesium, vitamins E and B6, and carbohydrate supplements.

*Discuss your situation with your physician. Work together to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. Follow it!
*If you smoke, quit.
*Practice stress management: many of the symptoms of PMS are unpredictable and emotionally draining. This can be very stressful and can exacerbate your condition.
*Regular exercise may reduce your risk of PMS altogether; exercising once you have symptoms (even though you may not feel like it) will reduce the symptoms you experience for that cycle.
*Take a daily, non-prescription multi-vitamin; discuss any other supplement needs with your physician.
*Be sure to get an adequate daily intake of calcium (1,200 mg/day).
*Eat a well balanced diet; don’t skip meals.
*Reduce intake of caffeine, alcohol, refined sugar, and salt.
*Enlist the support and understanding of friends and loved ones.
*Try to get regular, sufficient sleep.

A well balanced diet with lots of B vitamins and plenty of exercise helps to regulate period problems. Also, look into some herbal remedies such as evening primrose oil or agnus castus. Do a few Web searches - I found a book of dietary advice for people with polycystic ovaries - which i don't have but it contains great dietary advice specific to women.

Try evening primrose oil. It comes in a liquid filled capsule. You can get EPO from chemists and most supermarkets.

You take a capsule 3 times a day with food. I used to just take a handful throughout the day. (Hasn't hurt me).

Try using marmite in the week before you are due, the B vitamins in it can be very helpful. It sounds mad but it works!
