Your friend is stupid then isn't he/she. When I was anti biotics my Doctor advise to finish the course in the seven day supply even if the symptoms cleared. As for drinking, you're increasing the risk of liver and kidney damage if you drink whilst on anti-b's

Some anti-biotics are different as you may know. It take 2-3 days to get into your system. Oral anti-biotics usually take 7 days but IV anti-biotics (which is injected intno your arm) your usually on them for 7-10 days.
When on anti-biotics and you want to drink it can go either way it either makes you really drunk after 2-3 drinks (Cheap night out!) or is doesn't have any effect!

Depends on the type of antibiotic??? Zithromax sometimes called a Zpak is only taken for 3 days but has the same amount of medicine as the old tradition 10 course

It varies depending on which antibiotics and the dose. It's generally best to wait a week after you've finished the course before you go out drinking. The two don't mix and your friend could do himself long lasting damage.

Depends what kind of infection it is treating. He's an idiot if he hasn't finished the course - the infection will always come back again.
Mind you, I've been given antibiotics for only 3 days, so he could be being truthful.

in case you would possibly want to drink a toast at Christmas or new year, follow a million/2 pint of beer OR a million/2 small glass of wine OR 25ml of spirit and a lot less. make particular you've had some nutrition in you first or you'll sense ill. Drink more advantageous than those quantities and also you would possibly want to maximum likely 'beautify' the tree. And the floor. And the walls. and function to sparkling it up afterwards.

Some antibiotics can be done in 5 days. I haven't heard of a course of antibiotics that last 3 days.

zitromax is only taken for three days.
A widespread myth holds that you shouldn't drink alcohol while taking antibiotics, but in fact, drinking doesn't lessen the effects of the drugs. However, alcohol can lower your general energy and delay your recovery so it is best to minimize drinking until you've finished the prescribed course of antibiotic treatment. (Beyond that, chronic liver damage from excessive alcohol consumption can affect the metabolism and toxicity of antibiotics.)
