Where I come from that sort of thing has to be obtained by warrant. If you store the stuff on your phone he of course could simply read it.

As far as I know, phone companies do not keep records of text messages at all. It would be a breach of their privacy regulations for sure.
Also, the only agencies with that capability would be like, the FBI, or something.
So, regardless of who pays the bill for the phone, there is no way he'd be able to see what messages have been sent.

he won't be able to find out who you are texting by calling the phone company or paying the bills. he will definitely find out who you have been calling if he gets a hold of the phone bills! so you better throw the phone bills out if he has already paid for it asap lol!! but if he is a member of the CIA, then he would find out all your dirty lil secrets!
