According to Guinness World Records:
All-time best selling book:
Excluding non-copyright works such as the Bible and the Koran, the world's all-time best selling book is Guinness World Records (formerly The Guinness Book Of World Records). Since it was first published in October 1955, global sales in some 37 languages have exceeded 100 million.

But the largest first-edition print run and the fastest selling fiction book record belong to Harry Potter.

Da Vinci Code's reported 44 million copies sold certainly would seem to beat out Valley of the Dolls long-standing spot as the best selling novel of all time. Doesn't really hold up though, as the numbers sold for Dan Brown's timeless classic are based on number of books sold to book stores, and I'm pretty sure there are at least 16 million copies of The Da Vinci Code just sitting on the shelf of my local B&N. I'd say Jacqueline Smith's novelization of the Russ Meyer's film is still on top.

regardless of the conceited solutions of "the bible," and your questionable decision of posting the question right here, it quite is: "long previous with the Wind" at ~28 million copies bought international. what's quite extraordinarily humorous in any respect "the bible" solutions is likewise that it's time-honored by distinctive, atheistic, secular, and different non-believing scholars as far surpassing what's seen, if no longer something, a valid historic account (extra backed up by different debts of the day from Flavius Josephus, Cornelius Tacitus, etc...) as a result, the bible is, from a historic perspective, non-fiction.
