I have a stress fractuce on my left foot right now and I want to know if it's OK to walk to school on it. My school is around a mile away and it usually takes me 20 minutes to walk there.

i wouldn't walk on it (especially that far)

a stress fracture is caused by too much pressure being applied to that bone. if you continue to walk on it before it's healed-you'll be applying more pressure to it-which could cause the fracture to get worse or not heal properly

my advise is that you see if your parents can drive you to school or if someone else can. if not-you have a legitimate medical excuse for being out of school until the fracture heals. just get a doctor's note to cover your missed days.

If you're not having any pain, and you don't have a cast (I'm assuming you went to the doctor since you know what you have), then I would think it would be ok to walk on it. I've walked on broken toes and it didn't affect a thing. However, if you do start to experience any pain, call your doctor and get a removeable splint. Perhaps you should get a good elastic brace of some kind. Give them a call, they can tell you for sure.
Godloveya.

You don't say how long it has been since you had a stress fracture. If it is less than 6 weeks, then get advice from a doctor.

I had one earlier this year. I was given a brace to wear and told to stay off my foot as much as possible.

I wouldn't think so. But you should listen to what the doctors told you. If they didn't say either way call and find out.

I think you need to be careful, get expert advice from your doctor or hospital. You dont want to make it worse and you are right to be cautious.
