I cant pinpoint one movie as my favourite, but one of mine is The sixth sense with Bruce Willis, his character is brilliant, cant tell you why incase you havent seen it as it would give the plot away. Watch it if you havent, its great.
I also liked Nicholas Cage in Con Air, how he survived as a prisoner amongst some real animals.
Richard Gere's character in Primal Fear was excellent. He was a lawyer who fought to win his case, which he did against all odds but....another one I dont want to spoil for you if you havent seen it.
These are three of my favs off of the top of my head. If you want more recommendations let me know. :o)

My fav movie is "Closer" it was so stark. I walked out the theatre and felt so empty! My fav part is the very end when Natalie Portman turns to Jude Law and tells him she doesn't love him anymore. It's crazy and true how you can all of a sudden stop loving someone.

Apocalypse Now Redux, which I saw in the cinema, was by far the best film experience I have ever had. Compounded by the ingestion of a couple of grams of good rocky, I was completely absorbed.
