My fave is Tamora Pierce, also Robin McKinley, particularly the blue sword. Hero's Song and Fire Arrow by Edith Pattou are both really good. Crown Duel-Sherwood Smith. The Thief, The Queen of Attolia and The King of Attolia are all three good. Phillip Pullman's books are good. The Cry of the Icemark-Stuart Hill. King of Shadows-Susan Cooper. Airborn and Skybreaker-Kennith Oppel. All those are fantasy though, I've never read any vampire books.

I'm a teenager and i have found that the books written by Darren Shan are the best vampire books. IT is about a 13 yr.old boy who is a Vampire assistant and is a half-vampire living with a vampire and a snake boy. It is really quite scary!! The series is call the Cirque Du Freak!! I hope u love these books as much as i do!

Anne Rice has all the Vampire Chronicles out but I suspect they might be too deep for teens; there is a profound theme of rather sophisticated morality in her work. That is what makes it all so good. I shudder to think it might be overlooked.
