what do u mean?
the language of the Interface ...
1. like "start" menu to be in Japanese ...
2. or just the language u use to write from Keyboard?
if u mean the No. 1 u need a copy of Operating System in Japanese from scratch and i think it is so avialable all over the world...
but if u mean the No. 2 u have 2 ways :
1. the most easiest supposed that u installed the Japanese Language Packhage on your system...all what u need here is to just hit the "Alt + Shift" Key to alter languages...
2. If not ... u need to install Japanese Language Package ... u need the OS installation CD...i suppose here u r using Windows XP...
follow me please :
1. click "start" ---- > "settings" ------- > "control panel" then ----- > "Regional and Language Options"
2. choose the "Languages" tab in upmost portion of the window u will get.
3. click the two check boxes and to turn them "ON" u will be notified with a message each time u click one of the check boxes "just click OK"
4. click "Apply" u will be notified to insert the CD labeled WindowsXP or whatever it is .... and then u will be notified to Restart your PC after finishing... dont restart now...
5. go to the "Advanced" tab ... and choose your Language from the dropped down menu...and then click "Apply".
Hey ... dont change any thing in the "code page conversion table"
6. go back to the first tab "Regional Options" .. choose your Language again and your Country....then click "Apply".....
7. go to the "Language" tab again and click "Details" to determine which installed language will be used with your Keyboard....u can add more or delete whatever u dont use .... just click "add" to add new more languages or "Remove" to remove them "while they r selected on the left hand table" ..... after doing that ... notify how many languages u have installed for keyboard use and alter between them all using "Alt + Shift" key compinations
i wish u get benefit
thanks for reading
yours

start > setting > control panel
Regional and Language Options
There are 3 tabs. Update them as needed. No need to reinstall the OS. Most likely, it will tell you to insert the CD and install the language pack and the keyboard driver for the Japanese input method.
Be aware, what you see on the default desktop and the Start menu will remain in English. To change them to Japanese, you must install the Japanese version of the Windows. However, you will be able to input Japanese and display Japanese.
Have fun.

You can't operate Japanese programs on an English version of Windows. The language options in the Control Panel only change the text that is typed. English OS's can only work with English software, and Japanese OS's can only work with Japanese software.

Hai, u e san.
When you set up your OS, you get the option of the type of keyboard you wish to set up there. You need to select "Traditional Japanese" or whatever you want at that time. The default setting for MS XP is US Standard keyboard.
Of course, you have the option of using romaji, as it is.
Please uninstall and reinstall your OS and change the keyboard setting when you do it this time.
Sayonara.
