Descending is from highest to lowest. To do this,
1) get the LCD (the LCM or Least Common Multiple of the denominators).
2) divide the LCD by the denominator, then multiply by the numerator. Do this for every fraction to be compared.
3) arrange the results in the order specified,
4) arrange the fractions in the order

Example,
-----------------------------
(a)
2/7
3/4
1/2
5/28

1) We find the LCD, which is the LCM of 7,4,2 and 28. Thus,
LCD = 28

2) We divide the LCD by each denominator, then multiply by each numerator
28 / 7 = 4 x 2 = 8
28 / 4 = 7 x 3 = 21
28 / 2 = 14 x 1 = 14
28 /28 = 1 x 5 = 5

3) The results are 8, 21, 14 and 5. We arrange them in descending order,
21, 14, 8, 5.

4) Then bring back their "corresponding fractions".

-----------------------------------
Therefore, the descending order of (a) is,
3/4, 1/2, 2/7, 5/28
--------------------------------------

That is how you do it...

Now, for (b) and (c), you can ask someone else to do that, because I already ran out of time in this internet cafe. Bye..!

(a) 2/7,3/4,1/3,5/28
mutiply each by LCD of 7, 4, 3, 28 which is 28*3=84
24/84, 63/84, 28/84,15/84
so descending order being 63/84,28/84,24/84,15/84,
i.e 3/4,1/3, 2/7,5/28
(b) 5/6,4/4,3/2,3/4
as above LCD of 6,4,2,4 is 12
5/6=10/12, 4/4=12/12,3/2=18/12, 3/4=9/12
descending order
18/12, 12/12, 10/12, 9/12
i.e 3/2, 4/4, 5/6, 3/4
(c)3/4,2/3, 7/8,5/6
LCD of 4,3,8,6 is 24..so
3/4=18/24, 2/3=16/24, 7/8=21/24, 5/6=20/24
descending order is
21/24,20/24,18/24,16/24
i.e., 7/8, 5/6, 3/4, 2/3
