Do any of the other three major sports have that and does anyone know what year this first started in? I'm guessing the year after Jack Tatum paralyzed Darryl Stingley in 1978.

I'm asking about the four major sports only:football,baseball,basketball,hockey.Please don't give me 30 different sports.Auto racing is a no-brainer,by the way.

how about motor racing? Ambulances parked at various places round the track, Med-Evac helicopters, even mobile operating theatres at some meetings.

Depends on your location but Rugby and Football (i.e. not American Football) also often have ambulances stationed at games
