Where have you been? It is fake. It was played off as a real event on the Sci-Fi channel before it came out in an attempt to hype up the movie.. Look at the credits... What real amateur video has writers and directors? If it were real, the only people listed would be the editors and the people who were actually in the film.

Although the film is clearly fake, and the actors did not really disappear (I have seen the actors in other productions since), the myth of the Blair Witch does exist, the film was a very clever adaptation taken from some true events based around the myth/legend. Log onto the Blair Witch web site, you can read the real history there. I thought the film was good, although not as scary as I thought it would have been, which I did find a little disappointing.

FAKE. And not even a clever fake. The only thing clever about it was the fact that it grossed over $248 million worldwide, making it the most successful independent film ever made up to that point, and the most profitable film of all time in terms of the ratio of production cost to box office sales. Personally, I thought it was terrible, but, like so many others, I paid to see it.

Enjoyable the first time round and then lost its appeal. Unfortunately, here in the UK, we are suffering from a real Horror story known as the Tony Blair Witch Project.

When I first saw that movie I went in thinking that it was real. But when they came to the part where they found the "giblets" and teeth, of their friend, i knew it was fake. You know it's just a clever fake right? But, anyway, I thought it was good.

It is a great story...but it was all fake. Coming from someone who lives 5 minutes away from Burkittsville, MD, you should believe me. The town was never called Blair. The movie is not true and it is NOT based on any true events.

There is no question of a doubt that it was simply a film and was not genuine. It was an enjoyable film, and that it proved you dont need big budgets to do effective horror

Check out the link below, it proves that the film wasn't genuine and also talks a bit more about it.

A terrible fake of course. I liked the idea behind it but the Chavs in the cinema spoiled it for me one quote' That was rubbish, there was no Witch in it'
