I left my previous job because I hated everything about it. It was in a retail - store manager post, I hated my area manager, she was pain in the ****, uncreative, uninteresting cold fish (sorry), I hated my workhours, my lazy colleagues, just wanted to leave or I would loose my mind!!! What shall I say at interview? Cant talk bad about my experience just have to lie, but how? A lot? A little?

Yes, I agree with the last poster. But be careful - a skilled interviewer can tease it out of you, so be prepared.

And so far as lying at interviews, I think everybody does it to a greater or lesser extent. The whole thing is a stupid game that does nobody any good. They do say that when people are interviewed, generally the interviewer makes up his or her mind in the first thirty seconds.

Personally I would not expect you to lie. But, why should the interview be on what you feel about the situation in your previous job? You may avoid the situation. If it comes to that, you may just give a reply which does not give out much of your rancour. With tact, you may lead the questions to be diverted to other area, which hopefull will be less painfull and easy to handle by you.

Always tell the truth. The whole truth is not necessary, editorial license is permissable.

At your previous position you had gone as far as you could go, given the circumstances. You are now looking for a position that will help you gain more skills and develope you professionally. You want to demonstrait your creativity and work ethic.

Don't apply for jobs that have hours you don't want to work.

Interviews can be a breeze for you if you just string your words in a tactful manner....make light of the bad experiences or your weaknesses and elaborate more of your advantages and strengths...But don't make it too obvious that you're trying to do it...BE subtle....

instead of rambling on and on about this experience (which will only make you seem like a negative complainer), simply say it was not a positive working environment and that you are interested in seeking better opportunities. short, sweet, and very positive...good luck!
