well,i think i can help as i work with people from many cultures!
in the Gulf countries(arab people like saudia arabia, qatar, UAE), the ideal girl is mostly with daaark black, soft and very long hair, big black eyes, they don't prefer the slim body.
in the south of morocco, and n mauritania too(norh west of africa), the pretty girl is the fat one! when a girl is up to get married, they keep her at home and they start giving her a lot of food, and they give her also a plant to make her fat more and more!they use another plant to make her skin so wheite and net.
but i guess nowadays, with media and tvs..., beauty is going to be standard, i don't know if i should be unfortunately, because everyone is looking for a "jennifer lopez" or a "claudia schiffer", i mean, those tall and slim model, girls are looking for a "brad pitt" or a "david beckam", but we forgot that anyone has its special beauty, BEAUTY IS NOT STANDARD!!

In some culture, it is supposedly more attractive that the women are plump and curvy implying that they are fertile. You could also talk about the beauty that japanese culture found on foot binding way back? Hope that helped a little bit..........and of course you can talk about the ever growing, disgusting excuse for beauty we consider here in america....eating disorders/surgery for women and steroids for men...to be stereotypical. Good luck!

I dont know about sources, but it is said that the more symetrical a person is, the more attractive they are. I think this is in human nature.
