hi
try to come here before august, as starting from august a huge amount of people (arabs and tourists) come to visit egypt.
the weather now in egypt is just perfect, so try to come as soon as possible.
the distance between canada and egypt is verrry lond, so the flights are somehow expensive, it takes about 14-16 hours to get to egypt.
but it is cheaper to choose flights to Hurgada not Cairo, u can spend one or two days there then head to cairo by plane or bus, ur gonna enjoy it there too.
i dont know about agents in canada but try thomas cook
these are the main travel agencies in Egypt check out their sites www.travco.com
www.emeco.com
www.kimidartours.com
also visit www.intoegypt.com, to choose the best program for u
contact me if u need more info
hope u enjoy ur trip here:)

You do not require any special visa from Canada but you will have to buy visa stamps at the airport. Stay at a reputable hotel like the Movenpic or Hyatt and try to avoid ones you do not know. Be very careful as everyone in Egypt is out to get your money, either by stealing it or by over charging you. A taxi ride that costs a local 5-10 pounds they will try to charge 40, 50, or 100 pounds for. I was lucky because I had several local friends who would argue and get the lower rates. Nic nacs that ended up costing 10 pounds started out at 175 pounds. Everyone wants a tip, if they open a door for you or close the door behind you. Be prepared to say no repeatedly to get your point across. I was even worked over by a father and son team, the kid, about 7 years old kept stepping in front of me while the father tried to pick my pocket. When I turned to confront the father the kid reached into my pocket and all this was ten feet away from two policemen who just watched. Be prepared to dicker and argue as these are the national past time. Learn the word Hal-lace (ENOUGH!) and say it strong and loud. If you can get beyond all of the above, it is a wonderful country full of rich sites. Oh yes, don't get suckered into the light show at the pyramids which was a total waste of money (about $20). Good luck and enjoy.
