Any kind of abuse causes hurt. When hurt, we do not function/perform well. Abuse makes us lose our self esteem, and we tend to start to believe we are less then we really are. We become unhappy, and a community made up of unhappy people barely trying to cope is a community that is adversely affected.
This is a community that is not likely to develop, produce satisfied, content induviduals.

There would be no communities without it. Unfortunately abuse is the down side to being a human. That is not to say that you should ignore it, or just live with it.
abuse is our self destruct mode. We are acceptable to abuse from others or may perpetrate the abuse ourselves if we have low self-esteem or feel negatively toward ourselves or others. These negative feelings may (and often do, cycle of abuse) stem from previous abuse that the person was witness to.
Our views towards parenting have made a significant difference in my opinion. We all know and respect now the bond between children and their parents. We allow children to have full childhoods. We have developed a social conscience to protect children's innocence. (This may have been slightly over done) My only concern is that despite what we know about the importance of the child parent bond in the first 3yrs of life (attachment theory, John Bowlby ), and how this short time will determine their personality and their insecurities later in life. So many parents go out to work. Now I know all this, yet still I would personally be a working mother myself because I know that you could fret and worry about producing perfect children forever and it wouldn't make the blind bit of difference. Also in todays society, many women cannot live with the guilt of being a stay at home mum, like thats something to feel guilty about!! Life is never going to be a bed of roses, but we can limit and minimise abuse through education, nurture and close relationships.
Abuse also gives communities something to work together to change in some situations.
Abuse can also be the product of a dysfunctional society, where people lose their sense of morality, due to the bleakness or un-certain changable society.

People change their attitude towards others. Everybody thinks for themselves and the people that help the above can be useful to other people that are really in need. If someone tries to stop me in the street for a question I sure will not stop to answer. There are too many disturbed people and just going through this site you can see many people that don't know what they want. Lets hope for the best.

i've got no thoughts myself. yet there are a chain of three books, written by a guy who went throuh very severe actual and psychological abuse as a toddler. so as, the books are 'a toddler referred to as 'It'', 'The lost Boy' and 'a guy named Dave'. they're writeen by David Pelzer. the 1st one (a toddler known because it) consists of the main with reference to the quite abuse, the subsequent 2 are how he deals witht issues as he grew up. they're large books, very specific and all thoroughly real.
