11 months is very young to be walking. You shouldn't force him. In my experience, once children begin to take their first steps, they start to walk quite fast. This usually happens around 12 months, or even a few months later. But every child is different, so don't compare him with every other baby you see. You should enjoy it while he can't walk, as there is little danger of him hurting himself. Babies can be really difficult to control once they can move around themselves. He might just be a little lazy, which is no bad thing for a baby! I was a very wild baby and difficult to control, but my sister, who's 2 years younger, was completely the opposite. She had no intention of moving until she was ready!

Don't worry.

I think most kids walk when they are around 12 months. Of course, they will walk on their own time. Nothing to worry right now. Mine is 10 months and he is not walking or using his walker either. He will when he is ready

There are many children who dont walk until close to 18mths... there isnt anything wrong with them, they just choose to do things on their own timetable. If he can support his own weight, that is what is important. If he chooses not to try to walk I dont think that is a sign of a developmental problem or anything. Of course at his next appt with the Ped. go ahead and ask, that is why they are there, but until then dont try to push him too hard. Just play with him and dont worry that he isnt walking yet. Once they start the next step is running, and isnt he a handful enough as he already is?? I know my girl is!

He might not be ready to walk for other few months which is normal. so be patient with him. i did not start walking until i was 18 months old and my boy friend was about 16 months old when he started walking. so babies learn to walk at different rates.

My daughter didn't walk until a week after her first birthday. Don't worry. He'll walk when he's ready. For my daughter she had to build her confidence that she wouldn't fall when she walked. After that she took off. Your son is not behind schedule. Lots of babies don't walk until after 1.

He will walk when he is ready.Don't make him walk, that may seem impossible to reach for him and he will be disappointed of himself.Let him do it when he wants to.There are some babies who start walking during their 8th or 9th month and others who walk after they have passed 1 year.Your child is developing absolutely normal.
