Art is subjective so anyone can do it. Art is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Personally I wouldn't pay a dime for some of the modern "art" that is being sold for thousands of dollars.

It does take some skill to say WHY it is bad. For example with photography I've seen a lot of bad photos in art contests. Other people see them and say they are bad but unlike me they can't tell you why they are bad or why they are good. I know the technical and artistic process of photography so I can say this is a good photo and people will like it because of X,Y,Z.

hope this helps

Quote "No. Man is not qualified to even get himself through his own life without the help of the Lord. Much less, think he can judge God. Prideful, arrogant, violent, selfishness is all man is good for. Maybe an occasional bright light of a good deed, but only if someone else sees it and praises you for it. Satisfy the ego. Pathetic." Is this what you seee when you look in the mirror ? When I look in the mirror I see a human with a strong mind and a strong will to make life better around them. I have my flaws and weaknesses like everyone else but I feel no shame for them. You on the other hand obviously live a life of either guilt or judgement of other people, either of which is counter productive to the human race and to your own life. You can spend you entire life looking into religion and how would you pick the one that was correct. It is impossible to know. You can only believe whichever one strikes you the most and run with it. Completely subjective. If, when I die, I stand before god and he asks me why I didnt chose to worship him my reply will be as follows; I took the tools that you gave and I made the best judgement I could. I chose not to be a sheep to what other men told me I should do, say, wear, how I should spend my money, who I should vote for, who is evil, what I should believe and how much money I should give to those men while I allow them to control my life. I chose to live the life you gave me on my terms with the tools you gave me. If god exists and that answer does not satisfy him, so be it. Personally I see no evidence there is a god but I am not arrogant enough to declare that one does not exist. That said, It is impposible to judge god. Edit: Great post Way, gave you a thumbs up = )

People with an artistic background (painters, architects, designers, film directors, actors) are suitable, plus art historians or cinema historians, etc.
And no, art is not subjective. It may have many styles, but there is a background to it. This is why not anyone can do it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but in order for this opinion to be valid for other people, it must be based on deep understanding of aesthetic qualities and technical merit.
