I am going to ignore his private life here. He is most certainly not the best actor ever. That said, he is very good. Watch Rainman and Born of the Fourth of July.

One that has not seen him act!!!! Or one that has not seen Ed. Norton, J.Depp, D.Washington act, ( just to name some . Comparing him to De Niro & his generation actors would be unfair).
