the right was NOT added in the spirit of times. it was added in 1775 and again by thomas jefferson, and amended again. get your facts straight, first off.

second. I will surrender my right to bear arms if you surrender your rights to free speech and free assembly. **** hillary. she stole the office here, and did NOT even live here when she stole it. but we forget that part.

HEY GUN GRABBER! the laws were NOT written in the spirit of the times. you should go back to school. guns were just as deadly then against each other (ak47 vs muzzleloading rifle), as they are now. you need to remember who gave you your right to speak, I think. you are not in your right to deny me my right to bear arms. not in the LEAST of what you say, in fact. I will say this. its better to have it and not NEED it, than to NEED it and not have it. our forefathers knew other guns were coming, and didnt move in a whit to ban anything. until you facists pulled your crap in 1950's, we could still buy cannon.....

I do, for the record, believe that guns should be regulated to the rightful practicing americans, at thier choosing, and not to the criminals.....to do otherwise, is a wrong agianst both you AND me.

by the way, the right bear arms has NOTHING TO DO WITH DEER OR PIGS OR ANY ANIMAL OR HUNTING! I dont even want to discuss that with you. it is not why it is there. does it scare you that the people should hold the REAL power? it doesnt matter WHAT gun it is, only that it is a GUN. if you take my single shot muzzleloader is the same as taking say, my ar15 or ak47. who said you have a right to interpret my right to bear arms??? maybe you cant say some things publically, then....or worship some gods in how you see fit then? maybe you should trade that for my "assault weapon".??? I doubt any of you would? would you gays give up your right to be free and gay? i think not. would you give up your right to be free women? I think not. how about your right to be free as you would, at any time? what do you think GUARANTEES these rights? just that you SAY so?

I think you people need to get a grip, or move to canada. be a socialist, like you intend to be.

I wont give it up it is coming to it

by the way, the NRA masquerades as the savior to my 2nd amendmant right, but steals it in the process.....do you REALLY think that you can repell an armed criminal with ONE SHOT? how do you think our military boys got thier "education" with arms? do you really think that a handgun is the end all be all of wicked guns? how about an ak47?

do you people NOT realise that it is YOU, YOUR WAYS that inflict punishment to us all?

I HAVE a damn right to kill a terrorist. I HAVE a right to repel a body armored home intruder, I HAVE a right to repel a crooked cop, I HAVE a right to repel the government, if they serve something else, I HAVE the right to say who and what I am, I HAVE the right to stand my ground.

if YOU DONT WANT TO, THAT IS YOUR RIGHT! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO STEAL MINE!

this is the heart of our right to bear arms. im sorry if you all dont see it how it is. ill keep the candle lit for you, even if you cannot defend yourself, I will defend you, as your american neighbor.

Necessity does not equal right. The 2nd Amendment reads, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Please note that NOWHERE does is say, "But only until a specific time", or "but only if everyone agrees", or "Only muzzle loaders", or "assault weapons are not allowed".

I am a firm believer in the Second Amendment. I am an avid hunter and shooter. I do not own an assault styled rifle, nor do I ever foresee myself owning one. In my opinion, there is no need for such a weapon in my arsenal; HOWEVER, if I want to buy one, that is my desire and RIGHT. Need/necessity has nothing to do with it.

Anyone that wants to take away my weapons had better come armed. Anyone that wants to take my RIGHT to own weapons, will have to deal with any/all legal means that I can bring to bear/assist with to fight them.

Actually, the problem lies within the media. They show these things on the news about kids with guns. Other children out there who are being abused at school see this and think this is their only way. The problem isn't the parents teaching their children better, it's the people who abuse the right to have a gun. No child should have a gun. Most kids look for their parents guns and that's how they come across them. Others find it much easier to get them off the street. The problem is we live in a country where you can kill someone and get off after only a few years in jail. People are very angry and don't know how to handle that, therefore they think the only sollution is to end that person's life. Pretty sad huh? Freedom of speech is way different than rights to bare arms. You can say something to anyone and they will still be able to walk away. You shoot someone and they don't have that same option. That is why there shouldn't be any reason for any civilian to carry a gun.

Why should I not have the right to defend my home, from like, the invading crack addict that comes through the window in the middle of the night to steal my property to get his/her next fix?!? Or to protect my family from the fugitive that the US Marshall service considers armed and extremely dangerous that is taking refuge in a house down the street?
I don't beleive that assault weapons are necessary for John Q. Public, but I do beleive in the right to bare arms for my self preservation. I also beleive in background checks and gun registration. Oh by the way...I'm an NRA member.

Hey, gun toter ! That right was written in the spirit of the times -- one in which the country was still in its formation stages. It meant that it was a good idea if you had a gun to defend your home and country -- you know, like from the invading English.

I personally hate guns, but would NEVER insist that no one should have a gun. Killing as sport -- just a little insane, but that's your right. Does anyone really NEED an assault weapon ? I think a lot more people would respect the NRA if they said "Guns and hunting weapons are OK, but assault weapons are NEVER okay ! Longer and more thorough background checks? Definitely!" Then many of us might not agree with some of their philosophy, but would give them more respect that they DO have the 'right to bear arms'.

By the way, who is trying to take away your guns ?

YOU ARE,if you think your right to carry handgun into a school and shoot the children is being inpinged in some way. think about the consequnces of giving up something that is not needed but is the instrument of so much unecessary deaths.when you remove the right to walk the street with a concealed weapon, you are outraged, yet are you not sickened by the acts of the school shooter, the drug crazed gang member that drives by and shoots comuters on the way home from work, every action has either a opposite or equal
reaction. LF
