My periods were very irregular which made timing trying to get pregnant very tricky! I could be anything between 11 and 43 days so I would chart for a few months before trying then take an average time scale. I got pregnant with my 2nd on day 5, but it was fun trying to cover all the odds! But I am sure if you were to wait just the month from your last period then it would probably give you a reasonably true reading. Good luck! x

I would take a pregnancy test first. If it is positive of course you know it is time to make an ob appointment. However if it is negative you need to be finding out why you are not regular. Of course you are not ovulating since you are so irregular or maybe ovulating irregular. It is very hard to get pregnant that way. I am also extremely irregular and I don't ovulate regularly and I found out I had PCOS last November.

have you been checked for other medical conditions before trying to get pregnant? irregular periods can be a sign of something else...

I guess it is up to you when you check for pregnancy. don't go overboard or you will spend a lot of money on those tests!

well you should test 10 days after the 40 days to be accurate... if you check you temps and find out when you are ovulating then you can test 14 days after that.. good luck

go 9 months and then see if anyone appears!

No... on a serious note, I'd say no longer than 5 days.
Apparently stressing and worrying about it doesn't help start a period so try to relax if you're late on.
