To put it short our rock music is good for it's time, but it will never ever be like it was before. Now music is written for corporations and companies. Classic rock, like pink floyd or led zeppelin, wrote music based on their experiences. Or the eagles, they let members of the band write songs, and it gave each song a different sort of personality. We can't go back to how it was and it sucks, back to when normal people can relate to the music, when the music seemed like it was made for the people. Now it's all stereotypical, a rapper sings a song about smokin' weed, and a pot head would think that they can relate, but songs like "Time" by Pink Floyd talked about getting older and wasting away your life by doing wasteful things. But people born close to the latest generation won't listen and realize it because their too caught up with songs about money and bitches and ho's.

Rock and roll is played with three electric guitars (a lead, a rhythm, and a bass), a set of drums and sometimes keyboards.
It started in the United States in the 1950s. Cleveland, Ohio, disc jockey Alan Freed coined the phrase "rock and roll".
The heart of rock and roll is the rhythm, which is basically a boogie woogie blues rhythm with an accentuated backbeat. It evolved into what is now called just "rock" music. Although there are still some rock bands around, most of what passes for rock nowadays is really pop.

i mean yeah dude, i'd like to think so - rock&roll doesnt really get old does it!!!! unlike pop music for example - only lasts a few weeks and then every one forgets!!!
but i see where ur question is comin from - great rock and roll bands like led zeppin, pink floyd, G&R Aerosmith, smashing pumpkins, Dire starits etc etc where jus brilliant. so much effort and skill seems to go into their music that they are, as far as iam concerned imortalized!!! i love that some tracks runs for more than five mins...and they really were the best instrumentalists werent they. i dont belive they can be matched by any new wanna be rockers!!!!

but still there are still alot of great bands around that do justic to rock and roll even today right?...eg: the googoodolls, oasis,RHCP, U2, gin blossoms, alice in chains, metalica etc who still keep that rock rolling!!!

all i can say is "long live rock and roll"!!!
cos without it i dont know who i'd be!!!!

Yes it does, but in various forms. Types of music never stop existing: they either get jiggled about a bit and become something slightly different, or they go out of fashion for a few years and come back around again.

have you heard Billy Joel's song, "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me"? all these new rock bands with their own diverse style such as Punk Rock, Grunge, Pop, etc.... they're all still considered as Rock and Roll in my opinion, just as stated in Billy Joel's lyrics.
