It was late Friday evening when i started with like a dull pain in the left hand side of my stomach which i just thought was wind or somthing then it started again all day saturday but this time it was everytime i moved i got the pain and little pains in both my arms and the bottom of my back also, this continued through sunday but in the early hours of this morning the pain seems to have moved into the centre of my stomach but there like short shooting pains that occur every few seconds.

I have contact my GP this morning and he is seeing me today at 5.10pm i just wondered if anyone could give me some advise on what this could be?

Many thanks

Look dear,I'm with the opinion that says it's gastritis, yes, gastritis causes pain like this particularly if accompanied with gastrooesophageal reflux.I do have this problem & you won't believe it's pain mimics a heart attack, severe retrosternal pain ,burning sensation referred to the back & water brush in my throat, but these are all suggestions,& all you have to do is just being quiet as all will be well so soon when you visit your physician.
I want to tell you also that appendicial pain is referred around the umbilicus & not to the epigastrium,so don't worry at all.I'm sure all will be alright with you.
Good luck.

The pain in the arms im not sure about...but the rest of it...it surely sounds like kidney stones. As it passes through you you can feel every bit of it...which explains the traveling pain. Your kidneys is located in your lower back toward the sides. This really sounds like kidney stones... with probably a urniary track infection. I had them both at the same time about a year ago and boy the pain! I was rused to the E.R. This is the only thing i can come up with.. i really hope you get better. Defintly get that checked out asap and drink lots of water! Good luck sweetie!

At first it sounds like gastritis which I used to get often when I was in my teens/early 20's but the pain in the arms and back make it sound like something else entirely.

For the gastritis/IBS they prescribed me with an oral medication called "Belladonna Alkaloid & Barbituates" which was just the generic term for some kind of muscle relaxing drug. I wouldn't take any kind of pills or other drug though or assume anything about this. You really do need to talk to your doctor first.

Problems with the organs in the abdominal region i.e. the digestive system, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, appendix and kidney could be the main reasons for a bad stomach ache. Gastroenteritis can give you a severe stomach ache, while stomach pain from cancer may only be mild. I found a lot of great information on causes of stomach pain and its treatment at http://tinyurl.com/l9k9x

I'm glad you're seeing the doctor today. Worst case scenario is appendicitis whch can be serious if it's not treated.

Having said that, irritable bowel syndrome can be incredibly painful - much more than you might suppose.

Good luck!
